Automatic Nuts Filling Machine with Multihead Weigher
Automatic Nuts Filling Machine for Jars and Cans
This automatic multihead weigher packing machine for nuts is designed for accurate weighing, filling and packaging of peanuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, hazelnuts, mixed nuts, roasted nuts, seeds, dried fruit, candy, snacks and other granular food products.
The machine uses a multihead weigher system to calculate the best weight combination before discharge, helping improve filling accuracy, reduce product giveaway and keep stable target weight during continuous production. According to your nut size, product mix, target weight, jar opening and production capacity, the line can be customized with bucket elevator, multihead weigher, vibration feeding system, filling chute, jar positioning device and checkweigher.
Key Advantages:
- Multihead weighing helps maintain stable target weight for nuts, seeds, dried fruit and granular snack products.
- Accurate weighing helps reduce overfilling, which is especially important for high-value nuts such as almonds, cashews and pistachios.
- Customized hopper, discharge chute and feeding speed help reduce broken nuts and product damage during filling.
- Works with plastic jars, PET cans, glass jars, metal cans and other rigid food packaging containers.
- Jar positioning and controlled discharge help reduce product residue around the jar mouth before capping or foil sealing.

FAQ:
A multi-head weigher divides the nuts among several weighing hoppers and measures each hopper separately. The control system then calculates which hopper combination is closest to the target weight and releases that combination into the container.
This method is useful for almonds, cashews, walnuts and mixed nuts because individual pieces vary in size and weight. Accurate results still depend on correctly setting the target weight, vibration amplitude, hopper feed quantity and product recipe using the actual nuts. The acceptance test should record both average pack weight and the number of packs exceeding the agreed tolerance, rather than checking only a few sample jars.
A standard machine supplied from one pre-mixed hopper can control the total jar weight, but it cannot reliably guarantee that every jar contains the same percentage of each nut. Different nut sizes and densities may separate during conveying and feeding.
For a controlled recipe—for example, 40% almonds, 30% cashews and 30% walnuts—the line should use a dedicated mix-weighing configuration with separate product inlets or divided weighing sections. Each ingredient can then be assigned its own target weight before all components are discharged into the same jar. Commercial mix weighers can be configured to control several products independently and assign specific target weights to each outlet.
Nut breakage is affected by every transfer point, not only the multi-head weigher. The feeding elevator, distribution table, weighing hoppers, discharge chute and distance between the weigher and jar should all be evaluated.
For more fragile products, the system may use:
- Reduced product drop heights
- Lower hopper and chute angles
- Controlled vibration settings
- Cushioned contact surfaces
- Slower final discharge
- Gentle conveying between machines
The machine should be tested with actual roasted nuts because raw almonds, roasted cashews and walnut kernels have different breakage characteristics. Official weighing-system guidance recommends reducing drop distances and allowing fragile products to slide rather than fall wherever practical.
Yes, but oily or heavily seasoned nuts normally require different settings from dry raw nuts. Oil and seasoning can build up on the feeding trays, hopper surfaces and discharge chutes, causing inconsistent product flow and gradual changes in weighing speed.
Depending on the product, the machine may require:
- Product-specific vibration recipes
- Dimpled or embossed contact surfaces
- Steeper or customized hopper angles
- Anti-stick surface treatment
- More frequent dry cleaning
- A feeder designed for products that do not flow freely
A sample test should run long enough to reveal buildup—not only for several minutes. Equipment manufacturers use customized contact surfaces, scrapers or screw-feeding systems for difficult sticky products because uncontrolled buildup can reduce feeding stability and weighing efficiency.
Peanuts and tree nuts are major food allergens, so changing products on a shared packaging line requires more than removing visible nut pieces. The cleaning and production procedure should be designed to prevent allergen cross-contact.
A suitable control plan may include:
- Removable weighing hoppers and product-contact parts
- A documented wash-rinse-sanitize-air-dry or validated dry-cleaning procedure
- Inspection of elevators, chutes, conveyors and hidden collection points
- Production scheduling from lower-risk to higher-risk allergen products
- Separate tools or change parts where necessary
- Cleaning verification and written records
- Final label verification before restarting production
The exact method must follow the buyer’s local food-safety system and validation requirements. FDA guidance identifies inadequate cleaning of shared equipment and poor production scheduling as potential causes of allergen cross-contact; written cleaning, monitoring and verification procedures may therefore be required
