A peristaltic pump is generally recommended for low-viscosity tinctures and frequent product changes because the liquid only passes through the filling tube. A servo-driven piston pump is more suitable for thicker oil-based or glycerin-based tinctures, while a ceramic pump can be considered for small-dose applications requiring precise filling.

For tinctures containing a high concentration of ethanol or another flammable solvent, please provide the product SDS and alcohol concentration before ordering. The production area and machine may require grounding, ventilation, explosion-protected electrical components or an ATEX-compatible configuration based on local safety regulations. A standard machine should not automatically be assumed suitable for a potentially explosive production environment.

For customers producing multiple tincture formulas, strengths or flavors, a peristaltic pump system can help simplify product changeover because the tincture contacts the replaceable tube rather than passing through a large pump chamber.

The tubing can be cleaned or replaced between batches, and dedicated tube sets can be prepared for different product formulas. According to the machine configuration, a low-viscosity formula change can be completed in approximately five minutes, while piston-pump cleaning normally requires more time because additional product-contact parts must be flushed or disassembled.

Manufacturers working under GMP or dietary-supplement requirements should establish their own cleaning SOP, cleaning records and acceptance limits instead of relying only on a visual rinse.

The amount of residual product depends on the filling pump, hose length, supply tank, manifold design and filling volume. This is especially important for expensive CBD, herbal or pharmaceutical tinctures.

A peristaltic pump normally has a shorter and simpler product-contact path, which can help reduce residual liquid and make product recovery easier. Anti-drip filling nozzles also help reduce dripping and product waste during normal production.

Before shipment, startup loss and remaining product can be evaluated using the customer’s actual tincture or a material with similar viscosity. The tubing layout, tank size and filling system can then be optimized according to the customer’s batch size and acceptable product-loss target.

The machine can be customized for glass dropper bottles, amber tincture bottles, screw caps, pipette droppers and other small-bottle closures. However, dropper assemblies that look similar may have different pipette lengths, bulb hardness, thread dimensions and insertion resistance.

For reliable automatic operation, customers should send complete bottle sets, including the bottle, pipette, rubber bulb, collar, inner insert and outer cap. We can then design the corresponding bottle guides, dropper-feeding parts and capping components.

During factory testing, we recommend checking dropper insertion, cap alignment, capping torque, bottle leakage and whether the cap can still be opened normally by the end user. This helps prevent loose caps, damaged threads, tilted droppers and leakage during international transportation.

The machine can be customized for approximately 10–80 bottles per minute, but the final stable output depends on more than the filling machine alone.

For example, a 30ml bottle with an easily fed standard dropper may run faster than a larger bottle with an irregular child-resistant cap. Therefore, the confirmed production speed should be based on a continuous factory acceptance test using the customer’s actual bottles, closures and representative product—not only the machine’s maximum theoretical speed.
